Welcome to Writerly Books Press’s first meet and greet event!
There’s something about talking about books in a bookstore that can’t be replicated anywhere else. Working in publishing, immersing ourselves in ink and papers, we can’t wait to jump into the scene.
So here we go: this April, the Writerly Books team is bringing the long-awaited meet-and-greet event with Thanh Dinh to you!

Writerly Books author Thanh Dinh will be at Indigo Square One for a meet and greet.
Come for the books. Stay for the conversation.
Thanh will be discussing the upcoming dual novella release — The Buddha Never Turns His Head and Full Moon in October — including what it means to publish two wildly different narratives as a single unified work. She’ll also talk about the titles already in the Writerly Books catalogue, the themes that keep pulling her back to the page, and the questions she doesn’t know how to stop asking.
Expect something candid. Don’t be surprised at literary tangents (there will be a lot of them!). Be confident that the conversation will go places. And most importantly, forget all the prepared notes!
What We’ll Be Talking About:
At the forefront, Dinh will talk your ears off about the inspiration behind the upcoming release and why these two novellas belong together. But of course, the team will redirect her to titles you may have already met in our shop. Choose your favorite line! Dinh will dissect it into an essay with you on the spot!
Among the themes we discuss, there will be suffering, agency, love, and the cycles we keep choosing. And of course, your questions. Bring them, as many as you can!
Date: April 26th, 2026 Location: Indigo Square One, Mississauga, Ontario
And of course, with all good things come a good journey: the meet and greet event won’t stop here! It will go on as we connect with other local bookstores and reach out to you, whose passionate opinions about Dinh’s writing keep our press going.
Additional locations to be announced. If you’d like to be the first to know when new dates and cities are confirmed, subscribe to our newsletter below — it’s where we announce everything first.
